Manufactured Yorkshire 2017 – meeting customers old and new
Yorkshire is rightly proud of its manufacturing tradition and what better way to celebrate this than at the annual Manufactured Yorkshire expo, this year held on 10 May.
There was no way we were going to miss out on the opportunity to catch up with existing customers and the chance to meet potential new ones, so we were delighted to share a stand with sister company PPS at the one-day event at Elland Road in Leeds.
The day started with free breakfast butties, courtesy of Santander, which were gratefully received and set us up for a busy morning of meeting delegates.
To help demonstrate the energy-saving benefits of our products, we invited passers-by to take a closer look at two particular Atlas Copco products: a DZS 065V vacuum pump and a GA11VSD+FF air compressor. We also had a range of Camozzi valves and actuators among the pneumatic components on display.
On our stand, we set up a display board where delegates could pin their business cards next to the particular issues that are driving their business at the moment. These ranged from improving energy efficiency and saving on costs to increasing overall productivity. Delegates were then offered free advice and the opportunity to book a free energy survey at their place of work, to assess areas where they might be losing out – for example leaky pipework or under-performing compressors.
This year, Manufactured Yorkshire offered 20 companies from Made in Yorkshire and CKMA the opportunity to each give a three-minute presentation. We were pleased to be able to take part, and put forward our vacuum expert, Adrian McSorley. As well as outlining how we can help customers save on their energy bills, he presented details of the latest Atlas Copco DZS dry claw vacuum machine, an efficient and robust machine that delivers high performance over a long lifespan.
If Manufactured Yorkshire shows us one thing, it’s that our local manufacturing industry remains extremely buoyant, with traditional and hi-tech companies flying the flag for the region. Among the delegates we met were printers, tool manufacturers and even a company that manufactures specialist looms for carbon fibre weaving.
Whether or not we managed to catch up with you on the day, we always welcome new approaches and our sales team would be happy to chat to you about our range of products and free energy survey offer.
