Despite being a relatively new event on the business calendar, Showcase Sheffield is proving popular with companies across the South Yorkshire region, with all of the stands selling out in advance of the day.
The B2B expo, which was organised by Sheffield Chamber of Commerce, took place on Wednesday 24 October at Pond’s Forge. Free for delegates to attend, the event attracted 116 exhibitors and included workshops, international trade support and Meet the Buyer sessions.
There were a number of local companies in attendance on the day, in particular from the utilities and hi-tech sectors. Those exhibiting included Sheffield-based Gripple, a manufacturer of wire joining, tensioning and suspension systems, and Infraglo, a company also located in Sheffield, which supplies gas burners and space heaters.
As representatives of a central Sheffield business, the team at Simm Engineering Group were keen to take part and welcome businesses to our stand on the day.
Visitors to the Simm Engineering Group stand were offered a bottle of locally produced Henderson’s Relish, which was a popular giveaway, as well as the chance to find out more about the compressed air systems we offer.
This was the second such event – the first being Connect Sheffield in October 2017 – and we were pleased to have the opportunity to talk to potential customers about our latest energy-saving products and services, such as the state-of-the-art Atlas Copco VSD and VSD+ air compressors and our ever-expanding Pneumatics Department.
The next major event organised by the Sheffield Chamber of Commerce will be the annual Sheffield Business Awards on Thursday 29 November, at which Simm Enginering Group will be sponsoring the Large Business of the Year category.
